Sermons on the books of the bible

Sermons on the books of the bible | Go ye therefore, and teach all nations

================================================== ===================
This was posted to the churches in Pakistan.
Dear Believers of churches in Pakistan,
Greetings in the precious name of our Good Lord Jesus Christ. I believe many of you know Hindi. There is a site for different sermons of the different books on the bible in Hindi, as given below.
parmeshwarkavachan.wordpress.com
This is freely available and can be readily , used for telling about Jesus as written in the scriptures to our non-Christian friends, and to prepare for the Word of God in the church.
It would have been better if we could work towards a site for sermons on the different books of the bible for middle eastern languages, e.g. Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Berber, Kurdish, Urdu.

I believe and hope that God will work towards bringing the gospel to the world, and specially to the middle-eastern nations.
Thanks and Regards
A believer in Christ.
================================================== ==========
What are other things can we do to bring the gospel to the world, and specially to the middle-eastern nations.
1) To bring messages from the books of the bible, through all forms of communication e.g. Radio/Television/Satellite/Internet.
2) To help persecuted Christians, praying for them, reaching out to them, through letters, cards and other means of communication, empowering them, to support other persecuted Christians.

Thank you dear believer for sharing this with us.
I have forwarded it on to our believers in Pakistan and other nations, and we join with you in praying for the establishment of a site in the languages of the Middle East and for God to open up any ways for the gospel to penetrate these nations.
Yours in His service,

he leads me beside quiet waters,
He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.

Psalm 27:4-5
One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple. For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock.

Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Isaiah 49:14-16
But Zion said, “The LORD has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me.” “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.”

Isaiah 51:3

“I will extend peace to her like a river,
and the wealth of nations like a flooding stream;

As a mother comforts her child,
so will I comfort you;
and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.”
When you see this, your heart will rejoice
and you will flourish like grass;
the hand of the LORD will be made known to his servants,
but his fury will be shown to his foes.

Lamentations 3:31-33

Matthew 5:4
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Matthew 6:19-34
I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labour or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?” or “What shall we wear?” For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Matthew 11:25-30
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

John 6:39-40
And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 14:1-4
Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God[; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you asthe world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Romans 8:14,15
… because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”

Romans 8:31-39
What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: ” For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Corinthians 15:52-57
In a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 5For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.

2 Corinthians 4:13-16
It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.” With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence. All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

1 Thessalonians 4:13
Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope.

Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God

Hebrews 2:14-15
Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death — that is, the devil — and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.

Hebrews 4:14-16
Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

1 Peter 1:3-9
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith the salvation of your souls.

1 Peter 5:6-7
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Revelation 7:15-17
And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore, “they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them. Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

Revelation 21:4
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

10 Encouraging Bible Verses About Work and Employment

Colossians 3:22-24 – #1 Scripture Verses About Work- Do All Work for the Lord, Jesus Christ

Slaves, in all things obey those who are your masters on earth, not with external service, as those who merely please men, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men; knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.

Three Verses for Your Career

The Bible is the bestselling book of all time. Billions have been printed or downloaded, and read. It is a God-inspired classic and every word of it is true.

The Bible contains over 31,000 verses, and if I had to choose only three for you to apply to your career they would be the following:

Genesis 2:15, “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.”

God created us, the work we do, and the world in which we perform it.

3 Bible Verses for Your CareerHe ordained us to “work” and to take an active role in the use and development of His created order. We are designed to be fulfilled when we are working, i.e. active, productive, and creative. The Garden of Eden was never a place of idleness.

God still owns it all and we “take care of it” on His behalf. We guard, watch over, and manage the things God sends our way. We serve God with our daily labors while remaining obedient to Him.

Your everyday work is a high calling from God. Even Jesus Christ, God Incarnate, picked-up tools and made things. He worked as an example for you to follow.

Romans 8:28, And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Trials are inevitable. They are part of living and working in our fallen world. But, you will never face your trials alone. God promises to work “good” out of “all things” and this includes every trial you will ever experience.

You may not foresee how any good can possibly come from a particular job situation, but God guarantees He can bring good from it – somehow, somewhere, sometime.

This guarantee from God only applies to “those who love him” and that is you, the Christian. Your love for God is the fruit of your salvation in Jesus Christ.

You have been “called according to his purpose,” and He is sovereign over every aspect of your career, the good and the bad. God’s plans productive and perfect. He is always for you and never against you.

1 Corinthians 10:31, “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

How do you know if you are successful in life if you don’t know the purpose of your life?

Success in the workplace is meaningful and important. But, what about success across the full spectrum of life including family, friends, and community – your well-being, values, and relationship with God? Is someone still successful if they are excelling at work yet failing God and others? What’s the standard?

The good news is God defines what is or is not a successful way to live your life, and this is what He is telling us in this verse: “whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

God calls you to glorify Him in “whatever” you do. No matter what is going in your life – in the good times and the bad, in times of joy or trial, in wealth or in need – “do it all for the glory of God.”

The truly successful person knows God, obeys God, and glorifies Him in every realm of life.

Work hard, put in the hours, and achieve success in your career, but in the process don’t turn your back on God, others, or the rest of His creation.

Finally, Psalm 119:105 declares “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.”

Bringing God to work is the best career decision you will ever make

25 Encouraging Bible Verses to Give You Peace

Desktop-Bible-Verse-Wallpaper-Jeremiah-29-11Many of my friends and family have experienced a variety of upheavals over the past little while…a death in the family, job insecurity, health issues.  The youth I know are also not immune to stress and upset.  Many struggle with depression, heartache, relationships and school-related challenges such as assignment deadlines and exams.  For any of you who are feeling the “weight of the world” on your shoulders…cast your care upon the One Whose shoulders are big enough to carry the burden for you!

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”  John 16.33

“So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.”  Romans 8:6

“And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.”  Colossians 3:15

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”  Psalms 46:1

“It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains me; you stoop down to make me great. You broaden the path beneath me, so that my ankles do not turn.”  Psalm 18:32-36

“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”  John 16:33

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”  Isaiah 41:10

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”  Deuteronomy 31:6

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we all live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.”  Galatians 5:22-26

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”  John 14.27

“May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.” 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 4:6-7

“Lord, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance. I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”  Psalm 16:5-8

“The Lord gives his people strength.  The Lord blesses them with peace.” Psalm 29:11

“The Lord is my light and my salvation – whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid?”  Psalm 27:1

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 4:6-7

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”  2 Timothy 1:7

“Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.”  Romans 5:1

“May the God of hope fill you all with joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”  Romans 15:13

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”  John 14:1-3

Cast your burden on the Lord, and he shall sustain you: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”  Psalms 55:22

“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”  Corinthians 4:16-18

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” Ecclesiastes 3:11

“May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.”  2 Thessalonians 3:16

Pray for believers and persecuted Christians

Pray for the persecuted christians ,for the rulers that people may be able to lead a peaceful life in Christ Jesus, and have freedom to preach the gospel.

1 Timothy 2
1I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Be in touch with the suffering believers, send them cards with your prayers in it, of hope and peace.
People who were misplaced, by persecution, should be helped by Christians, and they in turn may help and pray for the people, who are still there.

To grow in the love of the Lord

Hi , Hope you are doing well.

These are some advice on the things we discussed.

1) To post a prayer request, Google “Prayer Request” some prayer sites will come where you can post your prayers, and let others believers pray for you,

you can also pray for the prayers in the sites. To know about the power of prayers there are some links below.

http://www.openbible.info/topics/the_power_of_prayer

http://www.allaboutprayer.org/bible-verses-on-prayer-faq.htm

2) If you have any questions that you need to find answers, you can go to answers.yahoo.com , if you have religious questions , you can go to a section known as Religion and Spirituality, where you can post your questions, and let the believers answer you. Remember there are lot of atheists, on this site do not be bogged down by them. You can also answer some of the questions as you get more experience.

3) To search and read the Holy Bible, there are some sites available. http://www.lordblessthee.com/bible  or www.biblegateway.com   you can search the bible using keywords or do

a passage lookup e.g. “Ps 23” for Psalms 23. If you want specific answers to questions , you can break your question into keywords e.g. fear, hope etc and search the Bible for answers.

4) You can use Google to search for Bible answers, just write any question on google search bar and end it by “bible verse”, e.g. “power of prayer bible verse”. Look into the link for answers.

All the best for your journey ahead.

HOW CAN GOD HELP WHEN TRIALS COME

Xtians: If god and jesus are the same person?

As has been stated, why tell people they have to go through the son to get to the father? Wouldnt it have been logical for him to say, ” I am your god, come worship me!” Why all the extra nonsense about father and son? Was god bored and developed MPD before he created everything?

Who is Jesus? Why It’s Important to Know!

Who is Jesus, and why is it important for us to know? We live in an age of religious pluralism and moral relativism. The popular spiritual philosophy, especially after the events of September 11th, is that all religious belief systems, as long as heart-felt, are equal. Pick one and follow it sincerely, and you’ll get to Heaven. That’s what the world believes, but Jesus teaches otherwise. Therefore, we need to examine who Jesus is by looking at some of the questions people frequently ask about Him. The answers are found in the Bible, the historical evidence people have trusted for over 2000 years.

Who is Jesus? He Was 100% Man

According to John 1:14, Jesus became flesh and made His dwelling among us. Why is His humanity so important? In Hebrews 4:15, Jesus was tempted in every way, just as we are. As such, Jesus can sympathize with our weakness as humans. What can we learn from the way Jesus handled temptation? According to 1 John 3:5, Jesus came to earth in human form so that He could die a physical death and take away our sins. How would we all be affected, if we had no potential for escape from our sins?
Jesus is the key to membership in God’s family. When He stooped to our level by becoming a man, He made it possible for us to relate to Him and for God to relate to us through Him.

Who is Jesus? He Was 100% God
Who is Jesus, and how was it possible that Christ’s human body held the whole deity and glory of God?

According to John 1:1-3, Jesus existed from the beginning. From the beginning, Jesus was with God, and Jesus was God. Here, the Bible establishes the inseparable nature of Jesus and the God of the Universe. The following verses provide further evidence that Jesus is 100% God:

Highlights of Christ’s Time on Earth & the verses:
· Miracles: Luke 7:22
· Eyewitnesses to His perfect life: Matthew 16:13-17
· Fulfillment of Prophecy: Matthew 13:14, Luke 24:44
· Jesus’ own identification/claim: John 10:30-38, Matthew 16:13-
17, Mark 14:61-64
· Claims of Christ’s followers: Hebrews 1:8, Colossians 1:16, John
12:40 (quoting Isaiah 6:1-10)
· Resurrection: Luke 24:39, Mark 8:31, Acts 17:32
Jesus is the key to membership in God’s family. When He established His deity by rising from the grave, He made it possible for us to have forgiveness from sin and a renewed relationship with God.

Who is Jesus? He is the Way to Heaven
Who is Jesus, and why is He the only path to salvation?

In John 14:6, Jesus declares: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Why is it important to know that NO other religious leaders throughout history have ever made these claims? According to Ephesians 2:8-9, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” How does this contrast with other world religions which are based on “works” versus faith in Jesus and the resurrection? If we can’t build a relationship with God by doing good deeds or repeating rituals, what must we do? Acts 4:12 is clear, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

What makes Jesus god?

We don’t use the words begetting or begotten much in modern English, but everyone still knows what they mean. To beget is to become the father of: to create is to make. And the difference is this. When you beget, you beget something of the same kind as yourself. A man begets human babies, a beaver begets little beavers and a bird begets eggs which turn into little birds. But when you make, you make something of a different kind from yourself. A bird makes a nest, a beaver builds a dam, a man makes a wireless set-or he may make something more like himself than a wireless set : say, a statue. If he is a clever enough carver he may make a statue which is very like a man indeed. But, of course, it is not a real man; it only looks like one. It cannot breathe or think. It is not alive.

Now that is the first thing to get clear. What God begets is God; just as what man begets is man. What God creates is not God; just as what man makes is not man. That is why men are not Sons of God in the sense that Christ is. They may be like God in certain ways, but they are not things of the same kind. They are more like statues or pictures of God.

A statue has the shape of a man but is not alive. In the same way, man has (in a sense I am going to explain) the `shape’ or likeness of God, but he has not got the kind of life God has. Let us take the first point (man’s resemblance to God) first. Everything God has made has some likeness to Himself. Space is like Him in its hugeness: not that the greatness of space is the same kind of greatness as God’s, but it is a sort of symbol of it, or a translation of it into non-spiritual terms. Matter is like God in having energy: though, again, of course, physical energy is a different kind of thing from the power of God. The vegetable world is like Him because it is alive, and He is the ‘living God’. But life, in this biological sense, is not the same as the life there is in God: it is only a kind of symbol or shadow of it. When we come on to the animals, we find other kinds of resemblance in addition to biological life. The intense activity and fertility of the insects, for example, is a first dim resemblance to the unceasing activity and the creativeness of God. In the higher mammals we get the beginnings of instinctive affection. That is not the same thing as the love that exists in God: but it is like it – rather in the way that a picture drawn on a flat piece of paper can nevertheless be `like’ a landscape. When we come to man, the highest of the animals, we get the completest resemblance to God which we know of. (There may be creatures in other worlds who are more like God than man is, but we do not know about them.) Man not only lives, but loves and reasons: biological life reaches its highest known level in him.

Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis Chapter 23 and 24

Good answer from Ezekiel, quoting from C.S. Lewis.

There can only be one true God and the Being of God is divine and unique. The Bible shows Jesus being worshipped as this one true God because his IS God. Not a second God because that would make him a false God. The same God as the Father; the same God as the Holy Spirit. All three persons are the one Being of God. None were created. They are all equal.

If Jesus had been begotten in the sense that human men beget children, then Jesus could never be God because his Father alone would be God. The Greek word translated into English as ‘begotten’ can also mean pre-eminence, priority, unique, first of its kind. It is in that sense that the Bible speaks of the Son as ‘begotten of the Father’. It does not mean created. There was a Greek word meaning ‘created’ and it is never used of the Son! So, what makes Jesus God is his divine, eternal Being, which is the same divine, eternal Being that the Father and the Holy Spirit also have.

What is a Cult?
URL:http://www.clarifyingchristianity.com/cult.shtmlLink
POSTED ON: 10/10/10 – 6:56 AM

Cults change the Bible text, distorting the message.

A good example of changing the Bible’s text is a translation of the Bible called the New World Translation Of The Holy Scriptures. In Exodus 3:14, God reveals His name to Moses as being “I AM.” We write this Hebrew word “YHWH.” These four letters are called the “Tetragrammaton,” which most bibles translate as “LORD” (all capitals). “Jehovah” is a reasonable alternate translation for YHWH—which they use in the New World Translation. However, the New World Translation also uses “Jehovah” as the translation of the Greek word “kurios” 237 times in the New Testament. Kurios is a title literally translated as “Lord” (upper and lower case letters), although it could also be translated “master,” or “sir.” God’s name and this title are obviously two different words, yet the New World Translation uses “Jehovah” for both. This is done to alter Jesus’ position in the Bible. For example, the title “Lord” applies to Jesus about 2/3 of the time in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—but you would never know it by reading this translation. There are many other examples, but we have made our point—these folks are altering the Bible’s text.

We realize that “normal” Christian pastors often paraphrase the Bible’s text as a way of explaining it. That is OK. If you see something written that alters the Bible’s text, and the writer states that the writing is a paraphrase, that is also OK. However, if you find a deliberate change in the Bible’s text (and know that it is not a typographic error) you are seeing a sign of a cult.

1 John 5:7 (King James Version)

7For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

http://carm.org/bible-verses-show-jesus-divine

Bible verses that show Jesus is Divine

From King James Version.

  1. John 1:11In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
    1. John 1:1414And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
  2. John 5:1818Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
  3. John 8:2424I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
    1. Note: In the Greek, “He” is not there.
  4. John 8:5858Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
    1. Exodus 3:1414And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
  5. John 10:30-3330I and my Father are one.31Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.32Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?33The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
  6. John 20:2828And Thomas answered and said unto him, My LORD and my God.
  7. Col. 2:99For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
  8. Phil. 2:5-85Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
  9. Heb. 1:88But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
    1. Quoted from Psalm 45:6, 6Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.

Jesus is worshipped – Jesus said to worship God only, yet He receives worship.

  1. Matt. 4:1010Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
  2. Matt. 2:22Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
  3. Matt. 2:1111And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.

  5. Matt. 28:99And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
  6. John 9:35-3835Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?36He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?37And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.38And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.
  7. Heb. 1:66And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

Jesus is prayed to

Acts 7:55-6055But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,56And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.57Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,58And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul.59And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.60And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
  2. 1 Cor. 1:1-21Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,2Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their’s and our’s:  (The phrase, “to call upon the name of the Lord” is a phrase used to designate prayer.)
    1. 1 Kings 18:2424And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.
    2. Zech. 13:99And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.
  3. Rom. 10:13-14 – “13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.14How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?  (Paul is speaking of calling upon Jesus.  (The phrase “Call upon the name of the Lord” is a quote from Joel 2:32)).
    1. Joel 2:3232And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.  (LORD here is YHWH, the name of God as revealed in Exodus 3:14. Therefore, this quote, dealing with God Himself is attributed to Jesus.)

Where in the Bible that states Jesus was/is God?

Can you please share with us the verses Thanks.😉

    God calls him a God…

    Hebrews
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets…
8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

The leaders of his time also knew this is what he was claiming and Jesus defended himself using that with which they could not argue, the law, aka the Old Testament…
    John 10
33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
    35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

    Psalms 82
6I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

    1) Direct quotes:

But about the Son he says,
    “Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever;
a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom. – Heb 1:8

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ – Titus 2:11-13

    2) Jesus has charicter traits and possession of things that only God possesses

And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says,
“Let all God’s angels worship him.” – Heb 1:6

Jesus also calls God’s angels HIS, the right to Judge world, ect.

    3) Finally it is implied throughout

For example the charge against Jesus was during HIS trial was that HE was claiming to be God. Now here was a SPLENDED opertunity for HIM to correct any misunderstanding in order to avoid execution. Also see the story of Mark 2:1-12. Jesus doesn’t explicitly state HE was GOD, but certainly implies it and demonstrates proof of it. The demonic spirits recognized HIM as such, and Thomas confessed HIM as God.

Theres a start, but there is a whole lot more proof as well.

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind…….He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
15 (John testified concerning him. He cried out, saying, “This is the one I spoke about when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’”) 16 Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and[b] is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.

    John 1:1-4; 10-18

15The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

    Colossians 1:15-20

5In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in very nature God,
    did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
    being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a man,
    he humbled himself
    by becoming obedient to death—
    even death on a cross!
9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

    Philippians 2:5-11

    1In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. 3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. 4 So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs. The Son Superior to Angels 5 For to which of the angels did God ever say, “You are my Son;
today I have become your Father” ?
    Or again,
    “I will be his Father,
and he will be my Son”?
6 And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says,
“Let all God’s angels worship him.”
7 In speaking of the angels he says,
    “He makes his angels spirits,
and his servants flames of fire.”
8 But about the Son he says,
    “Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever;
a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.
    9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions
by anointing you with the oil of joy.”

    Hebrews 1:1-9

After Jesus died, he was resurrected with His original identity as Michael the Archangel. “Read carefully the following Bible account: ‘War broke out in heaven: Michael [who is the resurrected Jesus Christ] and his angels battled with the dragon'” (You Can Live Forever in Paradise on Earth, 1982, p. 21). Michael, on his own, could not rebuke Satan (Jude 1:9), yet in Mark 9:25 Jesus Himself rebukes Satan.  Hebrews 2:5 says an angel can’t rule the world, but Luke 1:32-33 and Revelation 19:16 show Jesus Christ to be the one who will reign.  Therefore, Jesus and Michael can’t be one and the same.

Nearly every theological heresy begins with the misconception of the nature of God and the Jehovah’s Witnesses are no exception. One of the false teachings propagated by the Watchtower Society is that Jesus Christ, before His incarnation was Michael the archangel.

In other words, they teach that Jesus, the first Being created by Jehovah, was Michael in His prehuman state, then became a perfect human being while on earth, died and returned to heaven as Michael the archangel.

°          “there is Scriptural evidence for concluding that Michael was the name of Jesus Christ before he left heaven and after his return.” The Watchtower May 15, 1969, p. 307

°          “‘Michael the great prince’ is none other than Jesus Christ Himself.” The Watchtower December 15, 1984, p. 29

°          “By retaining the name Jesus after his resurrection (Acts 9:5), the ‘Word’ shows that he is identical with the Son of God on earth. His resuming his heavenly name Michael and his title (or, name) ‘The Word of God’ (Rev. 19:13) ties him in with his prehuman existence.” Aid to Bible Understanding, p. 1152

Scriptures relating to Michael Biblical point being

    made

    Is this Jesus Christ?
Daniel 10:13 says, “Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the Kings of Persia.” Michael is only one of several other “chief princes.” He is not unique. Jesus is never called “Chief Prince” in the Bible.  It is not one of His titles. However, He is called “King of kings” and “Lord of lords” (Revelation 19:16)
Daniel 10:21 says, “But I will tell you what is noted in the Scripture of Truth. (No one upholds me against these, except Michael your prince.” Michael is portrayed as ”your prince”- that is, the “prince” for the exiled nation of Israel, who fights for them.  This battle is between angelic forces. Jesus does have angelic forces with Him when He fights (Matt. 25:31), but He is never referred to as the “Prince” of these forces, rather He is identified as “the King” (Matt. 25:34, 40).
Daniel 12:1 says, “At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people” Michael is here portrayed as a “great prince” who stands guard over Israel-obviously a guardian angel. Jesus is never called a “great prince” in the Bible, nor a guardian.
1 Thessalonians 4:16 says,  “The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.”
    1. The Lord Himself descends.
    2. “with” shouting
    3. “with” the voice of the archangel
    4. “with” the trumpet of God.
    5. The Lord Jesus Christ is identified.
All these things are “with” Christ: “a shout,” “the voice of the archangel,” and “the trumpet of God.”  If this verse is saying that Jesus is an archangel because the voice of the archangel is with Him, then we must also say that Jesus is “a shout,” and “a trumpet”!
Jude 9 says,  “Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, ‘The Lord rebuke you!’”
    1. Michael is an archangel. The New American Standard Concordance, p. 1636, lists the meaning of “archangel” as “a chief angel.”  This agrees with Daniel 10:13.
    2. Michael did not dare to rebuke satan.
    3. Michael spoke of “the Lord” (Kurios in Greek) rebuking satan.
    4. Jesus is not a “chief angel,” nor is He a “chief over the angels.”
    5. Whereas Michael did not have the power to rebuke the devil, Jesus rebuked him many times (Matt. 17:18; Mark 9:25; etc.). Therefore Jesus is not Michael.
    6. Michael referred to “the Lord” as separate from himself.  “The Lord” is a New Testament reference to Jesus and an Old Testament reference to YHWH.

Revelation 12:7 says,  “And war broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought” Michael is fighting at the head of his angels, which is only proper, since he is a chief angel. Revelation 12:5,6, just previous to this Scripture, portray Christ as a “male,” a “son”.  Verse 10 calls Him “Christ.”  Jesus is not called an angel in the book of Revelation.

Where in the Daniel 10 and 12 verses are there any explicit statements that Michael is Jesus Christ?

If Jesus Christ is the first and highest of all created beings, as the Watchtower Society teaches, and if Jesus was Michael in His prehuman state, then why is Michael called “one of the chief princes” in Daniel 10:13?

Hebrews 1:5, 6 says, “For to which of the angels did [God] ever say: ‘You are My Son, today I have begotten you’? And again: ‘I will be to Him a Father, and He shall be to Me a Son’? But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says: ‘Let all the angels of God worship Him.’”

If no angel can be called God’s son and if Jesus is in fact the Son of God (Matthew 8:29; 14:33; 26:63-64; 27:43, 54; Mark 1:1; 3:11; 15:39), then doesn’t this prove that Jesus cannot be the archangel Michael?

Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

Doesn’t this verse mean that Jesus could not have been Michael in His prehuman state, and then became a perfect human being while on earth, died and returned to heaven as Michael the archangel?

1 Thessalonians 4:16 says,  “The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.”

To interpret Scripture consistently, if Jehovah’s Witnesses claim that this verse proves that Jesus is Michael because of the “voice of the archangel”, then, again, to be consistent, doesn’t it also prove that Jesus is God because of the “trumpet of God”?

In order to demonstrate that Jesus was a created being, i.e., the archangel Michael, the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society try to use Colossians 1:15 as their proof text.

Colossians 1:15 says, “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.”

The word firstborn [Greek: prototokos] means “pre-eminent or first in rank”. In Hebrew culture, the “firstborn” was the son in the family who was in the pre-eminent position and not necessarily the one chronologically born first.

For example, in Genesis 41:50-51, Ephraim was physically born after Manasseh yet Ephraim was the “firstborn” or pre-eminent according to Jeremiah 31:9

Again, David was the last child born to Jesse (1 Samuel 16:10-11) but God says in Psalm 89:20, 27 that He “will make him My firstborn”, in other words, His pre-eminent.

The word protoktisis means “first created” but that word is never used of Jesus Christ in the New Testament.

Why would Paul not use the very specific word protoktisis meaning “first created” when referring to Jesus Christ to bolster the Watchtower position?

Why would Paul use the very specific word prototokos meaning “foremost, pre-eminent or first in rank” when referring to Jesus Christ?

An apt example would be the word prime [Latin: primus] meaning “first”. The Prime Minister is not the “first minister” in England but he is the most pre-eminent in position or the first in rank.

    Conclusion

Obviously, in order for the Jehovah’s Witnesses to claim that Jesus Christ is Michael the archangel means they are guilty of “eisegesis” or “reading into” the Scriptures instead of “exegesis” or “taking or drawing out” the meaning from the text.

Angels are created beings and are therefore not to be worshipped (Revelation 19:10; 22:8-9). The Bible says that only God is to be worshipped yet time and time again we see Jesus being worshipped in the New Testament (Matthew 2:11; 8:2; 9:18; 15:25; 28:9; 28:17; John 9:38; 20:28; Hebrews 1:6) and these people are never rebuked by Jesus – you have to ask yourself why?

Even the apostle Thomas who called Jesus, “The Lord of me and the God of me” was not rebuked by Jesus but was instead commended when Jesus replied “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed.  Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (John 20:28)

Jesus Christ, we must conclude from the Scriptures, is not the archangel Michael and thus we end with our first premise that nearly every theological heresy begins with the misconception of the nature of God and the Jehovah’s Witnesses are no exception.
